Syvota: Ideal for Relaxation
Syvota is a coastal town in Epirus Region, where the green landscape is embraced by the blue sea that constitutes an idyllic picture. Syvota is the tourist center of the region, full of olive trees and stunning beaches with secluded coves. The town is located just 24 km south of Igoumenitsa, opposite Corfu Island. Syvota is a starting point for a trip to the historical and natural monuments of Epirus.
A Bit of History
During the Turkish occupation the town was called Mourto, but in 1959 it was renamed by the Greeks in honor of the Battle of Sivoton in 433 BC.
