This excursion will be a unique experience as you will travel from the Aegean to the Libyan Sea and your path will run through mountain gorges and passes with breathtaking scenery.
Your first stop will be in the city of Rethymno, which locals called the second Venice. Narrow streets with distinctive medieval flavor reign in this truly historic town, where preserved Venetian and Ottoman architecture is also prevalent. You will have the opportunity to take a walking tour of the city with a guide and learn about the local attractions.
Visiting Kourtaliotiko gorge, with all its amazing scenery and mountain waterfalls , will allow you to appreciate the unique environment of Crete.
We’ll also visit the Monastery of Preveli (St. John), which is built on a high cliff and houses the holy relic of Crete - the Holy Cross.
Our final stop will be at the village of Plakias for lunch and free time to swim on the south coast, in one of the beaches of the Libyan Sea.
