Gudauri is a famous ski resort, equally popular among local population and foreign guests.
The place is located in just 120 km from Tbilisi in the Kazbegi region, at an altitude of 2196 m. with a spectacular landscape. Ski season opens here by November. The snowy weather usually keeps until May. The place is attractive for not only tourists but also for investors as well. In 2014 the National Geographic named Gudauri among top ski resorts in the world.
Skiers take cable-cars to get to the places for skiing. Here the skiing is safe, with no risk to snow slide and without rocky obstacles. It is also popular to get to the picks of mountains by helicopter and then ski down.
The total length of slopes is 50 km. There are options for beginners, as well as for professional sportsmen. The lower lift station is at 1990 m, upper station - at 3307 m. The main slopes are:
- "Pirveli" - 1053 m (3-chair cableway, the evening light)
- "Soliko" - 2295 m (high-speed 4-chair cableway)
- "Kudebi" - 1063 m (3-chair cableway to the top of Kudebi)
- "Snow-park" - 1104 m (3-chair cableway)
- "Sadzele" - 1504 m (4-chair cableway to the top of Sadzele)
- "Gudauri" - 2800 m (gondola lift, 10-seater gondola)
- "Zuma" - 600 m length (training slope with the lift)
Night skiing is possible on the track "Pirveli". Ski equipment rental office is opened nearby ski lifts. Hotels can also provide rental services.
After skiing in Gudauri travelers may visit the SPA-center (indoor pool, Jacuzzi, sauna), bowling, billiards. In the evening guests can relax in local restaurants with delicious Georgian cuisine and famous Georgian wines.
