Description

Kos: the Gem of the Aegean Sea

Kos is one of the Dodecanese islands with its capital in Kos Town. The population of Kos is about 34,000 people. Kos is a gem of the Aegean Sea and has stunning nature, marvelous sights and excellent beaches - its coastline stretches for over 290 km. But the island has much more to it. It will give you the tranquility and energy you need.  Nevertheless, clubbing fans can get their fair share of entertainment in Kardamena.

A Bit of History

The name Kos was first mentioned in Iliad. The Romans, Ottomans, who ruled Kos for 400 years and Italians left their traces in the architecture and ancient monuments of the island.

Diverse Island

Kos has tranquil and quiet places, where you can recharge your batteries and cosmopolitan towns, where you can party till dawn.

Kos Town

Founded in 366 BC, Kos Town is today a cosmopolitan and thriving capital of the island. When entering the harbour you can get an eyeful of the impressive medieval Castle of Neratzia. Combining old and new, Kos Town is packed with archaeological sights, restaurants, taverns, trendy cafes and shops.

Psalidi

The low-key resort of Psilidi offers you every opportunity for deep relaxation. Psalidi Beach, 3,5 km to the east of Kos Town, is sandy and organized, offering water sports facilities, cafes and fish tavernas. The village of Psalidi is connected to the capital by regular buses and taxis. Bike fans can go around by bike.

Kefalos

Located 40 km from Kos Town, in the western part of the island, Kefalos is a pretty hillside village. It doesn't have much to offer - just stunning beaches in the village and in the surroundings, the ruins of an old castle and several taverns and cafes.
