Georgia “South-East”

Day 1: Tbilisi, Borjomi

  • Arrival at the Tbilisi international airport
  • A company representative will meet you with a plate “Mouzenidis Travel”
  • Transfer to Borjomi, accommodation at the hotel.
  • Overnight stay at the hotel in Borjomi
  • Dinner at the restaurant

Day 2: Borjomi, Akhaltsikhe, Tbilisi

  • Breakfast in the hotel
  • Visiting the largest nature reserve in Europe - Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park
  • Visiting the city of Borjomi - a wellness-resort famous for its mineral waters and thermal baths.
  • Visiting the Borjomi Park mineral springs, which the visitors may taste at the spot.
  • Transfer to Akhaltsikhe.
  • Visiting the medieval 16th century fortress “Rabat”, fully renovated in 2011.
  • Lunch
  • Visiting “Vardzia” cave monastery - a rocky city of over 600 caves, built back in 12th century.
  • Returning to the hotel in Tbilisi

Day 3: Mtskheta, Gori, Uplistsikhe

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Visiting Uplistsikhe – “Fortress of the Lord”, the ancient cave city on the bank of the Mtkvari River, represented a significant political, military, religious, and cultural center between the 6th century BC and 11th century AD. The building is a place of unique archaeological discoveries of the late Bronze Age.
  • Visiting Mtskheta: Mtskheta has been Georgia’s religious and cultural center since the Christianity has become the state religion in 4th century. It was the Capital of Georgia until the 5th century AD, before King Vakhtang Gorgasali moved the Capital to Tbilisi. The “Svetitskhoveli” Cathedral (4th century) in Mtskheta has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. “Svetitskhoveli” is the place for enthronization of Georgian patriarchs.
  • Visiting the “Jvari” Monastery (Monastery of the Cross) of 6th century on the hill right on top of the “Svetitskhoveli” with fascinating views. Visitors may enjoy the extraordinary panorama at the junction of Mtkvari and Aragvi Rivers.
  • Visiting city of Gori, the birthplace of Stalin; Visiting the Stalin Museum.

Day 4: Kakheti (Telavi, Tsinandali, Sighnaghi)

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • Trip to the city of Telavi, famous for its wines and beautiful architecture. The city was the capital of the Kakhetian kingdom of 11th century.
  • Visiting Tsinandali, former property of the famous Georgian poet Prince Alexander Chavchavadze, the General of the Russian Empire. The museum is built in a magnificent park. There is a wine cellar in the property with 16 thousand bottles of wine dated 19th-20th century. You will be offered a glass of Georgian wine while walking in the park.
  • Enjoying beautiful views of the “Alazani” Valley.
  • Wine tasting, master class of cooking “khinkali” – traditional meet dumplings and “churchkhela” - traditional candle-shaped sweet with the main ingredients of grape mustnuts, and flour.
  • Lunch in a restaurant with stunning views of the “Alazani” Valley.
  • Visiting Sighnaghi, the “city of love” and the ancient Royal town surrounded by fortress of 18th century with 23 towers.
  • Return and overnight stay at the hotel in Tbilisi. 

Day 5: Ananuri Fortress, Georgian “Military Highway”, Kazbegi

  • Breakfast in the hotel.
  • Departure for Kazbegialogn the famous Georgian Military Highway.
  • Visiting the Ananuri Fortress (16-17 century, recognized as the UNESCO World Heritage).
  • Trip toward the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range.
  • Stop at the shore of the Zhinvali reservoir to enjoy conjunction of two rivers of the White Aragvi and Black Aragvi.
  • Visiting Gudauri at an altitude of 2000 meters: One of the most charming mountainous places of Georgia and a famous ski resort of regional importance.
  • Dinner in a restaurant
  • Return and stay overnight at the hotel

Day 6: Ethnographic Museum

  • Breakfast in the hotel
  • Visit of the Ethnographic Museum - Collection of traditional houses and buildings from various regions of Georgia located in the open space in “Vake” Park.
  • Dinner in a restaurant
  • Return and stay overnight at the hotel

Day 7 – Tbilisi-Airport

  • Breakfast in the hotel
  • Transfer to the airport and departure
