Description

Tokaj is a wine region in Hungary, which produce the world-famous Tokaj wine from white grapes. Total there are in the region more than 7 thousand hectares of vineyards, most of which are located on the territory of Hungary and part of Slovakia.

It is believed that the Tokaj wines are a native Hungarian product, but understand the Slovak claims to the production of Tokaj wines is also possible, because in 1908, when areas in which produce Tokaj wines were officially identified, Hungary and Slovakia together were parts of Austria-Hungary, but after the collapse of the empire it turned out that 7 villages involved in the production of wines were on the territory of Slovakia. But above all, for the wine tourists visit Hungary.

Until the middle of XX century Hungary bought up all the grapes in Slovakia, and has produced all the wine as a Hungarian product, that’s why we have recently heard about the Slovakian Tokaj. Wines under the name of "Tokaj" are also produced on the Crimean Massandra, but nothing compares to the Hungarian wine, you can taste directly on the wineries of Tokaj wine region.

Tokaj wine has unusual golden color, special fullness, softness and pleasant bouquet with notes of honey and bread crust. Tokaj wines are made according to old recipes that are unchanged for more than a century.
